Medication Renewal and Refills

  • Please be mindful of when a prescription will run out.
  • Prescription renewal/refill requests may take up to 3 business days to be processed.


  • Bluestem Center for Child and Family Development is a physician-directed group practice.  This means you may receive services by more than one of our professionals.
  • You may be referred to meet with a pediatrician, psychologist, nurse, speech/language pathologist, family therapist, social worker, or individual therapist.


  • Bluestem Center will provide a statement of our fees upon request.
  • Bluestem Center’s fees are determined by the professional training of the staff member, the length of time, the complexity of the problem, type of service provided, and who was present.
  • Some of our services, such as meeting with school personnel and some assessment tools, are not covered by all insurance carriers.  You are responsible for payment of non-covered services.


  • At your appointment, we expect any required co-payment.
  • Your insurance company will be billed before you receive a billing statement of our services.
  • If you are paying for services yourself, be prepared to pay 50% at the time of the appointment.
  • When parents are divorced, the parent who schedules the appointment and brings the child in for evaluation is considered liable for payment. 
  • Please notify us as soon as possible if your insurance changes.

Late Payment

  • If you have concerns about being able to pay for services, please discuss this with our business manager.
  • You will be notified if your account is seriously past due.  Please Make an Appointment to discuss this with the business manager.
  • If your account remains seriously past due, it will be turned over to a collections agency
